About Me

I am a vibrant, passionate, highly patient and personable educator with a strong practical and theoretical background in engineering and mathematics. I am a proud employee of USQ's and this is an example of how my USQ pride manifests on the outside >>>>>>

Armed with my Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics, in 2006 I launched into industry work where I performed finite element analysis to improve the design of blast proof shipping containers on mine sites and analytically testing other engineering structures. After a few years, I returned back to USQ to share my efforts between the School of Health, Engineering and Science as well as with Learning and Teaching Support, particularly the Learning Centre, since 2010. I am now also energetically pursuing a Masters in climate modelling using machine learning.

Mathematics Support at The Learning Centre

I first began working at Toowomba campus' Learning Centre as a casual maths tutor from 2003-2006. After my engineering industry experience, I discovered that I nothing could beat the fulfilment I felt helping others improve themselves through university education. I was fortunate to be offered the opportunity to help establish more permanent maths learning support at USQ Springfield's Learning Centre.

I currently work as an Associate Lecturer (Learning Enhancement - Mathematics) for The Learning Centre at University of Southern Queensland's Springfield campus. As a mathematics learning consultant, I provide all students at USQ with the opportunity to book in for an individual appointment or group workshop in person, over the phone, through video conference or via email.

School of Health, Engineering and Sciences

I make pop culture references in my lectures, and promote a fun, friendly and relaxed study environment and encourage social constructivism in my classrooms. Currently I am an active member of the teaching team for courses such as ENM1500, ENM1600, ENM2600, ENG1002 and STA2300 in the School of Health, Engineering and Sciences.
