What is Survey Monkey?

Survey Monkey is a web based survey tool that allows a user to target a specific audience to collect specific types of data. The data collected is stored by the Survey Monkey application within cloud storage. The application is available across all devices. The types of questions that can be created for the survey is unlimited and the data collected by the survey can be interpreted or presented by the Survey Monkey application or across various different modes that suit the choice of the users.

 The highlight of the Survey Monkey application is its ability to be customizable and to reach a targeted audience for a targeted reason

 Survey Monkey is a free application but it requires the creation of an account. It will be necessary for an account to be created before the lesson. 

How to use this resource

This resource has been designed to help a teacher to deliver a lesson centred on the Digital Technologies Curriculum year 5 and 6 from the Australian Curriculum. The lesson focuses on data, data collection and the capabilities of digital technologies to collect and interpret data. The resource packaged should be used to develop a teachers understanding of a survey, the application Survey Monkey, how to use Survey Monkey and a lesson plan that will guide a teacher through a lesson that introduces students to Survey Monkey.
